I debated whether to upload this shot or not for a while - because Mr Xin has become a regular acquaintance of mine.
I met him while walking in to drop off some slide film for development. I passed Mr Xin as I went up some stairs and left him a bit of cash. He asked (as I was limping and had a walking stick) "how my leg was?"
I replied and gave him the whole sorry tale about a broken ankle and how I took things for granted previously. We got to talking about life and health and what is really important and priorities in life and what makes real friends and the like.
Anyway - he is as sharp as a tack. A very intelligent man. He has a friend who helps him about who is mentally disabled. Apparently this form of "Symbiotic Relationship" is normal for disabled people. Individually they will face more troubles than together where they compliment each other.
He goes every week to one of the old Jesuit mission churches (a devout Catholic) and generally just takes it easy.
He is not always out on the side walk, though I do run into him about once per month and stop to chat for a bit.
